Broccoli

Broccoli is one of the agricultural products our company produces and supplies the market.

It is cultivated in an area of 800 acres. Its availability starts at the end of August and ends at the end of June.

The product is available packaged both in paper and IFCO plastic boxes, but also in ice packs during extremely hot months.

Broccoli is a plant derived from wild cabbage and belongs to the category of cruciferous vegetables, known for their beneficial nutritional properties.

It has hard and thick green trunk, leaves and flower heads green and purple usually eaten raw, boiled, steamed, pickled, etc. It is a plant extremely resistant to low temperatures and this is why it is cultivated in cold areas, and is also favored by the presence of moisture.

Broccoli is good for your health

Sulforafan, which broccoli contains, has been shown to have anticancer and antimicrobial activity.

Isothiocyanates appear to affect liver enzymes, reduce oxidative stress and have anti-inflammatory activity.

Lutein, zeaxanthin and beta-carotenoids protect eyesight and reduce the risk of eye diseases.
