Watermelon

Watermelon is one of the two fruits we produce and we dispose both to the Greek and European markets.

We cultivate it in an area of 500-600 acres. It is available in early July and ends in mid-September.

It is packed in 300-400kg BOX, 240-300kg BINS and 300, 400, 650kg wooden boxes.

Watermelon is a very popular and nutritious fruit. There are now too many varieties in shape, weight, taste, black or white spores. The watermelon is smooth on the outside with shades of green and sometimes with alternating dark and light green stripes.

A watermelon contains about 6% sugar and 91% water by weight. It is also very nutritious as it has a high content of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, with very few calories. Specifically, for the daily needs of an adult it provides:

  • 21% in Vitamin C
  • 2% in iron
  • 1% in calcium
  • Minerals such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folic acid, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, choline, lycopene and betaine.

Watermelon is good for your health
